Kristveig Halldórsdóttir, director of foreign affairs in Borgarholtsskói, went in the beginning of November together with one of her students, Hrafnkell Tumi Georgsson, to visit a school in Madrid called  I.E.S. Puerta Bonita.

This school has 900 students with various art departments such as film making, sound, acting, directing, graphic design and printing. The facilities are great; several recording studio’s of various sizes, a perfect printing studio, studio for photography etc.

Around 1960 the school build was a youth prison. It has got a new entrance building but the old prison is used for the classrooms. In an old church building by the school side is a theater for the school with excellent facilities for the acting; changing rooms, great light equipment and a recording studio.

Hrafnkell Tumi will stay in the school until 9th December to study film making and 3d Design. He will also work with recently graduated students who run their own company within the school. At present it is run by seven girls. We were so well received and had a great and interesting experience. I dream of such facilities for our art department in Borgarholtsskóli.
